Chandak Hills- Heart of Pithoragarh

handak is the name of a hill, located at a distance of 5 km from the city of Pithoragarh in state Uttarakhand. Chandak hills which is the heart of a beautiful city Pithoragarh. A beautiful shrine named Mostamanu Temple and a Magnesite mining factory is located here. This temple attracts a lot of visitors. The temple hosts the grand funfair in August. Visitors have to trek upwards to get to the top of the hill from the top of the hills called Vardani Temple. Chandak road is also famous for a fitness lover. In the morning many local people come on this road and walk up to a temple called Vardani and Meghna Hotel name OTR(On The Rocks).

Chandak hill was famous for beautiful hills, peaks and trekking. Chandak is a small valley that also shares a border with Nepal. You can see all Pithorgarh situated in beautiful soar valley from the top of the Chandak Hills. There are a lot of places in Chandak hills you can also camp.

   Best time to visit Chandak:

  • By the way, you can visit this place any time in the whole year but for the camping summer season, March to April is best.
  • If you visit this place in winter you might get the chance to see snowfall between December to February. Chandak hills were famous for beautiful hills, peaks and trekking. Chandak is a small valley that also shares a border with Nepal.

    How to reach:

  • Chandak hills located 5 km from Pithoragarh. The nearest railway station is Kathgodam in Nainital district and Tanakpur in Champwat district. In this railway station, taxi, KMVN and Uttrakhand Roadways busses are easily available and buses are easily available to reach direct Pithoragarh district.
  • The traveller from Delhi gets a direct bus from ISBT Anand Vihar to Pithoragarh at a time from 2 PM to 5 Pm.
