Pindari Glacier |
Pindari Glacier located in the Bageshwar district of the state Uttarakhand. It is located in Kumaon Himalaya in a beautiful village called Loharkhet and sits at the height of more than 3,000 meters above the sea level. The glacier is also the source of water for the Pindari river that flows in the region which meets up with Alaknanda in Karnaprayag.
The Pindari Glacier trek is a circular trail which begins and ends at the rustic village of Loharkhet. The Pindari trek can be fun and exciting for the trekking lovers. you can also set up your camp during the 45 km long trek which goes through different villages.
Best time to visit:
- The best seasons to visit the Pindari Glacier area in the summer months of April to June, and post-monsoon period of September to November.
How to reach:
- The nearest railway station is Kathgodam in Nainital district and Tanakpur in Champwat district. In this station buses and taxies are easily available to the main district of Pindari that is Bageshwar.
- You can also take a bus service that can take around 8-10 hours from Delhi to Haldwani and from there you can travel through any Kumaun region bus and a taxi to reach the base of the trek.
- You can travel by road to Bamsera that can be reached through the Delhi-Haldwani-Almora-Bageshwar-Bamsera.
