Asurchula Temple Trek Pithoragarh


Asurchula Temple is located in Pithoragarh district, in the beautiful state of Uttarakhand. It is located at a height of 7000ft. Asurchula trek is one of the best short route trails for tourist. It is an approximately 4-5 km hike in man-made trail. If you go for a night camp you should prepare yourself for all necessary things like food, fire, lights and most impotently water. There are Scarcity of water. We suggest you should visit and stay over there for one or two night. At this height you shouldn’t expect gentle breezes instead you should prepare yourself to face bone chilling winds and feel the adrenaline rush running inside you.On rainy days the fog flow on the top of the rock can blow your eyes.It is believed that The Asur is son of The God Indra.

  The best seasons to visit Asurchula in the summer season between March to June, and post monsoon period of September to November.

How to reach:

  • The nearest railway station is Kathgodam in Nainital district and Tanakpur in Champwat district and from there you can travel through any Kumaun region bus and hire a taxi to reach Pithoragarh.
  • You also have a bus service that can take around 8-10 hours from Delhi to Pithoragarh directly.
  • You can travel by road to Haldwani-Pithoragarh-Madsiroli road to reach there.
